Forgotten Words  

Handwriting carries the weight of memory—the curve of a letter, the pressure of ink on paper, the unmistakable signature of a loved one. In Forgotten Words, I draw from a lifetime of collected letters, layering their handwritten traces into sculptural forms—fragments of time and relationships, carefully cut, rearranged, and reconstructed. These pieces form a taxonomy of my personal history, a material archive of words once exchanged, now at risk of being lost in the digital tide.  

Through photo silkscreen transfers onto canvas and paper, I seek to revive the presence of these words, preserving their individuality even as they fade from everyday life. In an era where communication is instant and impersonal, Forgotten Words reflects on the disappearance of handwriting as a personal mark—a touch of the hand, an extension of identity. This work is an act of remembrance, a refusal to let these words vanish completely, a quiet insistence that they are not truly forgotten.
